1937

Raymond Davies is invited by Les Murdoch to become a partner in L.A. Murdoch Pty. Ltd., leading the successful growth in the business as it becomes a fully diversified construction and development company engaged in high rise residential, industrial, commercial, and public-sector development.
1950
South Africa
Murdoch Davies Pty Ltd. is formed by Raymond Davies, his son Bryan Davies, and Les Murdoch’s son, Doug Murdoch. The company developed many signature developments that remain prominent in Durban to this day.
1978
Bryan Davies develops two Wendy’s restaurants with partners in the U.S.
1982
The Davies family immigrates to the United States.
1985
Bryan Davies forms Chartwell Properties to develop light industrial flex space business centers. Chartwell Properties lands U.S. Customs as an anchor tenant in its Coffee Creek Business Center adjacent to the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport.
1996
Rich Davies, Bryan’s son and VP of Chartwell Properties takes the lead on the development of the Union County Business Center.
1997
Rich Davies sees opportunity in build-to-suit development for multi-location operating companies and establishes Pavilion Development Company.

Pavilion is a place where Cricket players come together during breaks in the match.
